NHFA Announces New England Chapter Meeting

May event will feature a tour of Jordan’s Furniture, address by Dan Kaplan of New England Home magazine and presentation of the Arthur Adelizzi industry award

HIGH POINT, NC – National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) will hold the 2008 Spring meeting of its New England Chapter on May 14 in Peabody, Mass. Open to retailers, interior designers and architects in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the annual event provides opportunities for education, networking and recognition of industry achievements.

This year’s event begins at 9:30 a.m. EST on May 14 with a VIP tour of the Jordan’s Furniture store in Reading, Mass. Attendees will then reconvene at 12 p.m. at Spinelli’s Conference Center in Peabody, Mass. for lunch and the program. The meeting will conclude with the presentation of the Arthur Adelizzi award.

Guest speaker Dan Kaplan, editor and publisher of New England Home magazine, will be speaking on the latest colors, styles and fabrics in home fashion. Kaplan will also be addressing the topic of Fine Design in a New Green World, as will a speaker from Robert Allen/Beacon Hill Fabrics.

The program will conclude with the presentation of the 2008 Arthur Adelizzi award. Named after the late Arthur Adelizzi—past president and chairman emeritus of the Home Furnishings Association of New England (HFANE) and a past president of the International Home Furnishings Representative Association (IHFRA)—this prestigious award is designed to recognize individuals that make meaningful contributions to the furniture industry while conducting their business and personal lives with honesty and integrity.
