David McMahon has been a business coach specializing in improving home furnishings businesses for the past 10 years. He has helped stores improve with financial planning, operations and inventory management throughout North America, Australia and New Zealand. He holds degrees in Economics and Business Administration. Prior to joining PROFITconsulting in 1998, David worked in the food and beverage industry as an International Business Development Assistant in Vancouver, Canada, taking new products to market in the USA and Asia.

Techniques to Improve Your Home Furnishings Business
Completely understanding and analyzing your financials is KEY to your success. They allow you to spot areas of strength and weakness quickly and make adjustments fast. They are your primary goal setting tools and performance gauge. In this seminar David McMahon will deliver a presentation on how to dissect a P&L, balance sheet and statement of cash flow, how to verify their integrity, how to compare them against NHFA industry metrics and then make recommendations for improvement. You will be split up into management teams and asked to look at a case study for your own analysis. Finally each team will present their findings and deliver recommendations.

Increase Your Cash Flow via Focusing on GMROI
Building on financial management David McMahon will deliver a presentation on improving your performance via focusing on GMROI. Here he will explain the various factors that effect GMROI, why it is vital to cash flow and how to improve it. You will then be given additional case study information whereby your management team will be asked to analyze with respect to NHFA metrics and deliver a plan for improvement.
