SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

"Retail Business Remodel" Workshop
This intensive half-day workshop based on the popular article series published in NHFA's Home Furnishings Retailer magazine is the most comprehensive program available for managing independent retail in the current environment. When is the industry going to turn and why? What are the most efficient and impactful ways to reach furniture shoppers? How can sales staff become entrepreneurs to drive their own pre-qualified traffic during slow times? What are the most frustratingly common mistakes in closing sales? And how can owners and managers do a better job of increasing accountability from their store teams while maintaining morale? Specific, proven recommendations are delivered in a highly interactive, do-it-yourself style that will allow you to walk out with not only ideas, but a detailed plan of action. To get the most out of it, come prepared with sales trends, traffic counts, close rates, average sale, and marketing plans as available.
Jeffrey HillerJeffrey Hiller is the president of PROaction Marketing Group where he does the business planning, marketing and sales training for a variety of businesses including furniture wholesalers and retailers.  Previously, Jeff was the former senior executive with the largest US ad agency, a 10-year owner/operator of a still thriving independent retail furniture chain, and VP Marketing & Retail for a record-setting furniture importer and a 3-time Inc 500 Fastest Growing Private Company.
